About Our Services

Nursing:

Under the supervision of the vice president of nursing, nursing care is provided 24 hours each day. The staff consists of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants and unit service coordinators.

We maintain a very high staffing ratio, and nursing care coordinators on each unit are responsible for coordinating all nursing services and related care.

Medical:

Medical and professional services include internal medicine, family practice, cardiology, geriatrics, dentistry, podiatry, radiology, pulmonary rehabilitation, psychiatry, surgery, ophthalmology and orthopedics. All of the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center consultants and sub-specialties are available to Trump Residents.

Social Work:

Social Work intervention begins within 48 hours of the resident's arrival. An evaluation is formulated through contact with both resident and family to determine the nature of the resident's home environment, the family support system, the resident's level of past and current physical functioning as well as emotional strengths and coping skills. A discharge plan will be formulated for the resident based on the expected level of functioning upon completion of the therapy regimen. This may include returning home with home care services or a transfer to a facility providing the most appropriate level of care. An even more important aspect of the social worker's role is to provide mental health services to residents and families. Residents receiving rehabilitation or LTC have typically undergone a major physical and emotional trauma and therefore may display periods of depression or anxiety. Counseling services are aimed at helping residents through this difficult period.

Hospice:

Hospice services are available at Trump Pavilion for those residents in the terminal phase of disease who choose non-aggressive, comfort care. The resident and/or family member can speak with the Social Worker, at any point during their stay, about such services.
